For over two decades, Big Business Scoopers priced service by the visit.
For example, we might quote a certain dollar amount per weekly cleanup, then calculate the actual monthly bill using 52 weeks in a year divided across 12 months.
Mathematically, it worked.
For clients, though? It was confusing.
A lot of people naturally think of a month as four weeks. So if they saw a monthly bill, they would divide it by four and assume that was the price per visit.
The problem is, there aren’t exactly four weeks in every month.
Weekly clients receive 52 regularly scheduled visits per year, which means some months have four service days and others have five. Every-other-week clients may receive two visits in one month and three in another.
That’s why we recently changed the way we present our pricing.
Today, when you sign up for recurring service with Big Business Scoopers, you’re essentially subscribing to ongoing yard maintenance for one simple monthly price.
If your weekly service is listed at $99 per month, your bill stays $99 per month, plus applicable sales tax, whether that particular month includes four scheduled visits or five.
And that does not mean the service costs $99 ÷ 4, or $24.75 per visit.
Over the course of a full year:
$99 × 12 months ÷ 52 weekly visits = approximately $22.85 per scheduled service.
We think monthly pricing is easier to understand, easier to budget for, and more transparent for our clients. Giving our clients the best experience possible is always our goal.
Some pet waste removal companies still price by the visit, and there’s nothing wrong with that. We used to do it too.
We’ve simply found that a flat monthly rate better reflects what our clients are actually signing up for: reliable, recurring yard maintenance throughout the year.
No recalculating. No surprise five-week month. Just one predictable monthly price.
We’ll cover how we handle accounts that start in the middle of a month, prorated billing, and service credits in a separate post — so stay tuned.
