Essex County · North Jersey
Weekly and every-other-week dog waste removal for Montclair and Upper Montclair. We already do business here: Montclair has been part of our North Jersey routes for years.

Your Montclair pooper scooper
Montclair isn't a new town for us. It's been part of our regular North Jersey service area for years, and our routes already run through Montclair and its neighbors, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, Verona and Cedar Grove, every week. That's why fitting a new Montclair yard into the schedule is usually easy.
From the big yards off Upper Mountain Avenue to the tighter lots around Walnut Street and the South End, your scooper texts on the way, walks the whole yard, double-bags every pile into your trash can and latches the gate. And we've gotten to meet a lot of Montclair dog families in person at Barknic at Lackawanna Station, Wise Animal Rescue's festival for dogs and their people.

Parks, trails and dog runs in and around town, from the town's and county's own pages.

Around town
Dogs must be leashed on sidewalks, public property and in parks. Off-leash play is only for designated dog parks.

Normal Avenue & Reservoir Drive
157 acres in Cedar Grove and Montclair, with four main trails and a cliff-top view of the skyline. Leashed dogs welcome.
Hilltop Reservation, North Caldwell

Good neighbors
Montclair bars dogs from soiling sidewalks, streets, parks and other public property, or private property without permission, unless the owner immediately removes the waste (Code §82-18). Penalties run up to $2,000, and each day is a separate violation.
Dogs may not run at large or be on streets, sidewalks or in public places unless leashed and controlled (Code §82-13).
$12 for a spayed or neutered dog, $15 otherwise, renewed every January with a valid rabies certificate. A $10 late fee applies after March 1.
In Essex County parks, dogs must be leashed except in off-leash areas, stay off playgrounds and fenced fields, and owners must remove their waste. Dog park violations run $100 to $2,000.
Montclair's brooks all run to the Passaic River. Toney's Brook, Nishuane Brook and Wigwam Brook flow to the Second River; Pearl Brook and Yantacaw Brook flow to the Third River, with Toney's and Yantacaw dammed into park ponds along the way. On a hill town built down the side of the First Watchung Mountain, rain moves fast from the yards to those brooks, and anything left on the lawn goes with it.

A little local history
Israel Crane, 21, builds a house for his wife Fanny on Glen Ridge Avenue. Preservationists move it a mile to 110 Orange Road in 1965, where it's now the Montclair History Center.
Road maps still show the area as West Bloomfield.
Montclair splits from Bloomfield Township so a second railroad can be built. The name comes from the French for a clear, bright mountain: the town sits on the First Watchung Mountain.
The Montclair Art Museum opens at 3 South Mountain Avenue, five years after its charter.
Montclair starts one of the first farmers' markets in New Jersey. It still runs every Saturday.
Local favorites
Vets, groomers and shops that keep local dogs happy. We just handle the other end.

We scoop in 140+ towns across Essex, Morris, Union, Passaic, Somerset and Middlesex Counties in North Jersey, Monmouth County at the Shore, and Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, Atlantic and Salem Counties in South Jersey. Our routes keep growing, so if you're nearby and don't see your town listed, ask. We'll tell you straight whether we can fit you in.
No. As long as we have safe access to your yard, you don't need to be home while we clean up.
We work through most weather, including light rain. If severe weather, snow, flooding or lightning makes it unsafe, your visit may be skipped. Because the next cleanup usually takes much longer, your regular rate still applies. If you clean the yard yourself before we're back, let us know and we'll gladly credit that visit.
We securely double-bag it and place it in your trash can, so it leaves with your regular garbage pickup.
